Tesla Rolls Out 5 Super Model Y Lease Deals This May

There are signs that Tesla may be considering selling the larger Model Y L in the United States at some point, but for now, Americans are limited to the standard model. It's still the best-selling EV in the country by far, and Tesla's market share actually increased early in 2026. Now available in five separate trims, there are lease deals available across the Model Y range this May. While the top model costs a hefty $799 per month, you can spend way less than this on one of the humbler derivatives.

If you don't absolutely need all-wheel drive, the Premium RWD model represents a sweet spot in the range. Unlike the lower two trims, it has the more upmarket interior and extra equipment (such as a rear touchscreen) that Tesla owners have become accustomed to over the last few years. At 357 miles, this trim has the longest range in the lineup, but it's still powerful enough to get from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. The base RWD and AWD models are cheaper, but some feel they give up too many features in return for their lower prices. If you have a larger budget, the Model Y Performance is one of the quickest crossovers in the world, with a 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds.

But the most sensible Tesla to buy may be the Model 3. Currently, Tesla is offering one year of free supercharging if you order a new Model 3 Premium or Performance. This offer is only available for a limited time.

Final Thoughts

Despite the turbulence seen in the EV market since the tax credit fell away last year, the Model Y is still enormously popular. Lease deals have remained consistent over the last few months, but Tesla may have to consider more aggressive incentives once more affordable versions of the Rivian R2 start arriving in showrooms. For now, the Model Y has the range, performance, and technology most customers expect from a modern EV.
