Columbus Realtor Greg Dunn inducted into hall of fame

Columbus real-estate broker Greg Dunn has been inducted into the Georgia Realtors Hall of Fame.

Dunn and Denny Jones, a co-broker and owner of RE/MAX Greater Atlanta, were honored during the recent Georgia Realtors Inaugural and Legislative Conference and Expo held in Atlanta.

The hall of fame recognizes members of Georgia Realtors who have demonstrated consistent support of the organization for at least 30 years, and who have had a strong influence in the real-estate industry.

"Through their business accomplishments, professionalism and long-term devotion to the Realtor organization, Mr. Dunn and Mr. Jones exemplify what it means to be a Georgia Realtor," said Ryan Brashear, the organization's president. "We are proud to bestow upon them the highest honor that they can receive as a Georgia Realtor."

Dunn was recognized by the Georgia chapter of the Real Estate Educators Association as Educator of the Year in 1999, and received the Distinguished Career Award in 2011. He also received the Realtor of the Year award from the Columbus Board in 1989, and was named Georgia Realtors Instructor of the Year in 2001.

Georgia Realtors is a voluntary professional association of about 31,000 licensed real estate brokers and sales people. The organization is an advocate for the real-estate industry in Georgia, saying it is committed to protecting private property rights and free enterprise, maintaining ethical and professional standards, and enhancing the public's awareness and confidence in Realtors.

Kinetic Credit Union CEO Janet Davis enters Credit Union House Hall of Leaders in D.C.

Janet Davis, president and chief executive officer of Kinetic Credit Union in Columbus, has been honored in Washington, D.C. as an inductee into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders. The recognition coincided with last week's Government Affairs Conference in Washington, which was sponsored by the Credit Union National Association.

Credit Union House is an events venue on Capitol Hill that represents a permanent credit union presence where credit union leaders from around the world, as well as members of Congress, can gather to discuss legislative issues.

The Hall of Leaders recognition is bestowed on credit union leaders "whose commitment has inspired others and made a significant impact on the credit union movement at the local, state or national level," the organization said. Each recipient is honored with a permanent plaque at Credit Union House.

Davis has been with Kinetic Credit Union since 1983 and has held her current position for 24 years. Kinetic currently has five branches and two service centers with 41,000 members and $310 million in assets.

Georgia Credit Union Affiliates' membership is just over the 2.1 million. It offers advocacy, educational, operational and marketing support for Georgia's 128 credit unions, which have combined total assets of more than $20 billion.
