SCORE holding entrepreneur workshops March 26 and April 2

Those with a desire to start a new business or expand the one they have will have an opportunity to tap into valuable expertise at two upcoming SimpleSTEPS Entrepreneur Academy workshops in Columbus.

The sessions, which will take place March 26 and April 2, both on Saturdays, are being offered by the Service Corps of Retired Executives, otherwise known as SCORE. They are being held 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. each day at ColumbusMakesIT Creativity and Entrepreneurship Center, 716 Front Ave., across from Coca-Cola Space Science Center. The cost is $15, which covers lunch for the two days.

The local SCORE office, located at 101 13th St. on the second floor of the Wells Fargo Bank building, has 11 retired business people who serve as counselors and mentors to those needing advice on topics such as financing a business and marketing it, said Debbie Berlinger, the Columbus chapter’s administrator.

The upcoming Entrepreneur Academy sessions will focus on testing and assessing business ideas, help with researching a business, marketing them, going over sales, pricing and financial risks, and finding money to launch or expand the venture.
