Callaway Gardens holding job fair April 7 to prepare for summer tourist season
Callaway Gardens says it is now peak season for its colorful blooming azaleas, which means that summer is right around the corner and the tourist destination in nearby Pine Mountain, Ga., will need more employees.
The gardens has scheduled a job fair for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 7 at its Robin Lake Beach dome off U.S. Highway 27. Those unable to make the recruiting event also can apply in person 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday at Callaway’s human resources office at the U.S. Highway 27 entrance.

The full-time and part-time jobs in the hiring mix include senior gardener, senior arborist, arborist, Discovery Center sales associate senior, recreation special event manager, executive meeting manager, water works manager, water and wastewater operator, carpenter/painter, general technician, locksmith, marketing communications manager, security manager and safety officer.
Available positions also include Champions Grille cooks, food truck supervisor, kitchen supervisor, chef de cuisine, hostess, dining room attendant, Vineyard Green/Plant Room supervisor, cashier, food server, Country Kitchen leader/server, hostess, steward, Discovery Café supervisor, banquets food server, reservations leader, guest services bell person, front desk supervisor, front desk agent, housekeeping public area attendants, supervisor, housekeepers, house persons, leader, golf cashier, golf cart attendant and TreeTop Adventure game attendant.
Seasonal temporary jobs that need to be filled include gate sales person senior, reservations agent, fishing guide, boathouse attendant, beach foods attendant, beach foods intern, beach foods supervisor, Champions Grille cart attendant, Discovery Café intern cashier and cook, education intern, horticulture intern, game attendant, beach ranger, bike attendant, child counselor, lifeguard, ski instructor and game attendant.
Those attending the job fair should be dressed appropriately and be ready for interviews on site, Callaway Gardens said.
Founded in 1952, Callaway Gardens is a 6,500-acre resort with plenty of outdoor activities and special facilities to connect its visitors with nature. Attractions include the beach and lake, a butterfly center, golf courses, the Ida Cason Callaway Memorial Chapel, walking and bicycling trails, and two large areas with walkways specifically planted with azaleas that burst with bright colors each spring. The resort on Friday said peak blooming season has arrived. Special events include a water-ski championship, Fourth of July celebration, and a Fantasy in Lights event.
