Recruiting in Columbus: Mando America, Cobb County Police, Hostess Brands

Auto parts supplier Mando America and the Cobb County Police Department are coming to Columbus to recruit employees, the Georgia Department of Labor said Wednesday. They join Hostess Brands in Columbus in search of workers for their operations.

Cobb County will be recruiting as many as 50 police officers on Thursday at the labor department’s Columbus Career Center, 700 Veterans Parkway. It takes place 10 a.m.-1 p.m., with annual salaries starting at $38,000.

Criteria for the police officer positions include being at least 21 years of age, having a valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or general education development (GED) certificate. Those interested must pass a physical agility test and undergo investigations, including a background check, drug screening, polygraph test and psychological exam. Military veterans are encouraged to apply.

On Tuesday, Mando America will be at the Columbus Career Center from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. in search of up to 20 manufacturing workers for its plant in Hogansville, Ga., which located between Columbus and Atlanta. The company makes steering, brake and suspension parts for the auto industry. Mando applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. No salary range was given, with pay varying by experience and position, the labor department said.

If travel from Columbus isn’t for you, Hostess Brands on Victory Drive will be looking for more than 40 employees Friday and Saturday at the career center. The Twinkie snack-cake baker will recruit 9 a.m.-5 p.m. both days, with pay ranging from $14.60 to $15.68 an hour for the production machine operator and utility production positions.
