Lisa Hagler becomes president of Southern Plastics in Eufaula

Southern Plastics Co. in Eufaula, Ala., recently promoted Lisa Hagler to the position of president.

The company is one of the largest soft plastic manufacturers in the world, with its primary business being an original equipment manufacturing supplier for some of the most recognized brand names in the fishing tackle industry.

The company was founded in 1971 by the late Tom and Don Mann. The company was purchased in 1984 by Terry Spence. Hagler joined the company in 1995 as a customer service and purchasing associate. She grew in responsibilities over the last several years and was promoted to vice president and chief operating officer in 2012. She became a partner in the business in 2014.

Spence has been president since acquiring the company and is moving into the role of chairman and chief executive officer.

“Lisa is the most dedicated, loyal and motivated manager I have ever been associated with during my entire working career in this industry,” Spence said in a statement. “She has great organizational skills, people skills and is all about quality products and service to our customers ... We are truly ‘blessed’ to have Lisa and the energy she brings in this important leadership role at SPC.”

With the leadership change, Spence said he will focus his time on improvement processes within the company, as well as future growth development.

Richard Lane joins Synovus as director of correspondent banking

Richard “Rik” Lane has joined Synovus as director of correspondent banking.

Synovus correspondent banking provides community banks investment, mortgage, international, treasury management and trust services, as well as a full range of credit products, the company said.

Lane will be based in Columbus. He is a graduate of Kennesaw State and has more than 10 years’ experience in banking. He previously worked with ServisFirst Bank, serving as senior vice president and correspondent banking officer.
