Piedmont Columbus Regional has opened its first QuickCare location in Columbus.

The medical clinic at 5448 Whittlesey Blvd. is the first of its kind in a Walmart. Piedmont QuickCare’s 25 other sites across Georgia are in a Walgreens, other pharmacies or at standalone center, according Tuesday’s news release.

Piedmont QuickCare offers healthcare treatment for minor injuries, non-life-threatening illnesses, vaccinations, sports and camp physicals and wellness services.

Board-certified family nurse practitioners can see patients at the QuickCare from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

“We’re always looking for opportunities to improve access to care to better serve our community, and QuickCare does just that,” Piedmont Columbus Regional CEO Scott Hill said in the news release. “Imagine doing your grocery shopping plus being able to take care of your minor illness/ailment, flu shot or have your child’s sports physical completed all under the same roof.”

“We’re excited to partner with Walmart in this new chapter to care for people ages 18 months and older,” Piedmont director of retail operations Susan Prayter said in the news release. “Just like our other clinics, patients can conveniently schedule an appointment online or just walk in to receive high-quality care.”

Patients can visit piedmont.org/quickcare for more information.
