Columbus mayor will self-quarantine after coming in contact with person tested for COVID-19

Columbus Mayor Skip Henderson announced Monday he is currently self-isolating, stating he came into contact with someone earlier this month who is awaiting COVID-19 test results.

Henderson said he came into contact with the person, who he would not name, on March 15. That person has been tested for the new coronavirus and has not yet received results.

Henderson will be staying at home to prevent the potential spread of coronavirus. He is currently experiencing no symptoms, and the length of his isolation will depend on the test results of the person who could have the virus.

A Columbus Council meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, and Henderson said he will try to attend the meeting virtually.
