Here’s a list of Columbus, Phenix City grocery store hours during coronavirus pandemic

While many stores nationwide are closing until further notice due to the coronavirus, also referred to as COVID-19, many others are staying open with reduced or special hours.

Here’s a full list of the current and special hours for grocery stores across the Chattahoochee Valley.

This list will be updated as stores adjust their hours or possibly close.

Aldi

Aldi at 6301 Veterans Parkway, Suite 500, is open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. seven days a week. Another Aldi location in Phenix City that was set to open in the spring has postponed its grand opening due to the coronavirus, according to Aldi’s website.

Piggly Wiggly

Piggly Wiggly locations throughout the Chattahoochee Valley will all move to new store hours during the COVID-19 pandemic. This change will happen starting March 26.

Locations in the following Georgia and Alabama cities will now open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.: Columbus, Phenix City, LaGrange, Lanett, Opelika, Eufaula and Thomaston.

Stores will not have a designated senior citizen hour but those shoppers are encouraged to come early in the morning when it’s least busy.

Publix

All Publix locations are open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. The store will open at 7 a.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for seniors aged 65 and up to shop ahead of crowds.

Save-A-Lot

The Save-A-Lot location at 4217 Hamilton Road is open from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. seven days a week. The first hour, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., is dedicated to seniors, customers with disabilities and their caretakers, according to their website.

Winn-Dixie

Winn-Dixie stores in Columbus are open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. for non-senior shoppers. Monday through Friday, seniors and high-risk individuals can shop from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. to avoid crowds.

The Columbus Winn-Dixie stores are located at 4231 Macon Rd. and 6770 Veterans Parkway.

Dollar Tree and Family Dollar

All Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores are open at their usual time, but will close at 8 p.m. local time daily until further notice.

Walmart

All Walmart Superstores and Neighborhood Markets are open from 7 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. daily. Every Tuesday from March 24 until April 28, Walmart will open at 6 a.m. for customers 60 and older.

  • 3864 Us Highway 80 West, Phenix City

  • 5448 Whittlesey Blvd Suite B, Columbus

  • 7400 Blackmon Road, Columbus

  • 6475 Gateway Road, Columbus

Food Depot

Food Depot located at 5600 Milgen Road in Columbus is open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. seven days a week.

The Fresh Market

The Fresh Market located at 1591 Bradley Park Dr. is open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily.

Rainbow Foods

There are three Rainbow Foods locations in the Chattahoochee Valley, with differing hours. The Columbus location at 4105 Buena Vista Road is open 7 a.m. until 10 p.m., seven days a week.

Both Phenix City locations at 300 South Seale Road and 418 Martin Luther King Jr Parkway South are open 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily.

Dollar General

All Dollar General stores will open at regular times but close an hour early every day to allow employees time to restock and disinfect the store. The store also has a special senior shopping hour during the first hour the stores are open to allow customers time and less crowds to shop in.

Target

The Columbus-area Target located at 1591 Bradley Park Drive will open at 8 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. daily until further notice.

On Wednesdays, individuals over 65 years old, pregnant women or anybody defined by the CDC as vulnerable or at-risk for COVID-19 can shop an hour early at 7 a.m.
