LIST: Columbus-area churches with alternative Easter services amid coronavirus

The impact of the coronavirus has been felt in the Chattahoochee Valley’s church communities, with many places of worship moving to online live stream Sunday services.

With Palm Sunday and Easter on the horizon, here are what the area’s churches plan on doing:

  • Christ Community - live streaming only. To watch the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday worship services, click here.
  • Morningside Baptist - live streaming only. Visit Morningside Media on YouTube to watch the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service.
  • Edgewood Baptist - live streaming only. Visit Edgewood Baptist on YouTube to watch the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.
  • Columbus First Seventh Day Adventist - live streaming only. Visit jesuslovescolumbus.org for more info.
  • 2 Cities Church - live streaming only. To watch the Sunday services, which start at 11 a.m., visit the church’s Facebook and YouTube channels. Additionally, Pastor Jeff Strueker is bringing communion and a short devotion to the homes of every family in the church that requests it on Easter Sunday. This will happen from sun up to sun down throughout Easter.
  • Calvary Baptist Church - live streaming only. To watch the 11 a.m. Sunday service, visit Calvary’s website.

  • Faith Worship Center International - live streaming only, Sundays at 11:30 a.m. and Tuesdays at 7:15 p.m. Visit the church’s website and click “watch live” to watch.
  • Church of the Highlands - live streaming only. All services are online at churchofthehighlands.com. Service times are 9 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
  • Northside Baptist Church - live streaming only. Service time is 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Click “watch online” on nbcga.org.
  • St. Thomas Episcopal - live streaming only. Visit stthomascolumbus.org for live streamed worship every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., evening prayer at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and a special service for Holy Week April 5 through April 12.
  • The Ridge - live streaming only. Live services streaming on Facebook and YouTube every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Visit theridgecolumbus.com for more info.
  • The Church is Overcome - live streaming only. Watch the Sunday services at 9 a.m. on Facebook, YouTube and through the website portal. For more info, visit overcomeministries.org.
  • Cascade Hills - live streaming only. Visit www.easter.watch at 10 a.m. Easter Sunday to watch the service. A special message for Cascade Kids will also be available Easter Sunday as well at www.kids.easter.watch.
  • Redeemer Lutheran Church - live streaming only. Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Easter and other Sundays. Visit www.redeemercolumbusga.org or visit the church’s Facebook page for more info.
  • Benning Hills Baptist Church - live streaming only. Visit the church’s Facebook page to watch each Sunday at 11 a.m. Services will be posted to the church’s YouTube channel later on.
  • Peters Chapel AME Church - Live streaming on Facebook live at 11 a.m. Sundays. Video will also be posted to the church’s website at www.peterschapelamec.com
  • Faith Chapel - live streaming only. Watch the Sunday services at 10:30 a.m. on the church’s website, www.faithchapel.net/faithchapeltv, on Facebook Live (@faithchapelcolumbus), or on the Faith Chapel mobile app.

  • Greater Beallwood Baptist - live streaming only via YouTube and Facebook (search Greater Bealwood Baptist Church) at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Easter Sunday.
