156 coronavirus cases reported in Columbus, surrounding counties. Here’s a breakdown.

Muscogee County and its surrounding areas saw 14 new coronavirus, or COVID-19, cases Thursday according to data from Georgia’s Department of Public Health.

A total of 156 cases were reported in our immediate area, according to the noon update from DPH.

Here’s a breakdown by county:

  • Sumter 45

  • Muscogee 25

  • Crisp 21

  • Troup 20

  • Dooly 11

  • Meriwether 8

  • Clay 5

  • Harris 5

  • Randolph 4
  • Schley 3
  • Chattahoochee 2

  • Macon 2

  • Taylor 2

  • Stewart 1

  • Talbot 1

  • Webster 1

Georgia’s West-Central Health District covers 16 counties: Chattahoochee, Clay, Crisp, Dooly, Harris, Macon, Marion, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor and Webster.

Troup and Meriwether counties are not in the West-Central Health District but because of proximity to Columbus, the Ledger-Enquirer will track those numbers as well.
