264 coronavirus cases reported in Columbus, surrounding counties. Here’s a breakdown.

Muscogee County and its surrounding areas saw five new coronavirus cases overnight and one on Sunday, according to data from Georgia’s Department of Public Health.

A total of 264 cases were reported in our immediate area, according to the Sunday 7 p.m. update from DPH.

Here’s a breakdown by county:

  • Sumter 83

  • Muscogee 37

  • Troup 34

  • Crisp 28

  • Randolph 18

  • Dooly 15

  • Meriwether 11

  • Clay 7

  • Harris 7

  • Schley 6

  • Macon 4

  • Talbot 4

  • Chattahoochee 2

  • Taylor 2

  • Marion 2

  • Webster 2

  • Stewart 1

  • Quitman 1

Georgia’s West-Central Health District covers 16 counties: Chattahoochee, Clay, Crisp, Dooly, Harris, Macon, Marion, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor and Webster.

Troup and Meriwether counties are not in the West-Central Health District but because of proximity to Columbus, the Ledger-Enquirer will track those numbers as well.
