Nearly 600 coronavirus cases reported in Columbus, surrounding counties. Here’s a breakdown.
Muscogee County and its surrounding areas surpassed 500 coronavirus, or COVID-19, cases Wednesday according to data from Georgia’s Department of Public Health.
A total of 591 cases were reported in our immediate area, according to the 7 p.m. update from DPH.
The numbers are expected to continue to increase with each update, according to a press release sent from the DPH on Tuesday. This is attributed to testing becoming more and more widespread across the state, said Kathleen Toomey, DPH commissioner.
