Restaurant brings comfort food to those on front lines of COVID-19 fight

Wild Wing Cafe is among the businesses helping feed essential workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

They recently provided a meal of home cooking to healthcare workers at Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital treating COVID-19 patients.

Georgia cases top 17,800

The Georgia Department of Public Health at 7 p.m. Saturday confirmed 17,841 cases of COVID-19 in the state, up by 181 from the noon update

Statewide, 677 people have now died from the novel coronavirus, an increase of four confirmed deaths since the last update.

Columbus brewery makes hand sanitizer during coronavirus pandemic

A small Columbus brewery is now helping relieve the ongoing local shortage of hand sanitizer.

Chattabrewchee Southern Brewhouse, 1301 Sixth Avenue, is now producing hand sanitizer and making it available for sale to the public.
