Alabama reports over 5,300 coronavirus cases. Here’s a county-by-county breakdown.
Lee County, Alabama, reported 319 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of 10:30 a.m. EST Wednesday.
State health officials report there are now 5,356 confirmed cases statewide and 178 deaths related to the coronavirus. Sixteen of the 178 deaths have been from Lee County.
There have been 1,839 tests done in the county, and 730 people have been hospitalized across the state due to coronavirus.
The state reports 48,387 COVID-19 tests have been conducted by state and private labs. This number is only reported daily and not in real-time, like the rest of Alabama’s numbers.
However, private labs are not required to report negative tests — meaning it’s possible that the actual number of tests conducted could be greater.
