Muscogee County and surrounding areas report over 1,450 coronavirus cases. Here’s a list.

Muscogee County and its surrounding areas have 1,457 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus as of the 12 p.m. Saturday update from Georgia’s Department of Public Health.

There are now 69 coronavirus-related deaths in the 18-county area.

Muscogee County reports 260 confirmed cases and four deaths, as of 12 p.m. Saturday.

Muscogee ranks No. 17 statewide for total coronavirus cases. Sumter County is the only other local county that ranks higher (No. 11) with 349 total cases.

Georgia’s West-Central Health District covers 16 counties: Chattahoochee, Clay, Crisp, Dooly, Harris, Macon, Marion, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor and Webster.

Troup and Meriwether counties are not in the West-Central Health District but because of their proximity to Columbus, the Ledger-Enquirer will track those numbers as well.
