Alabama coronavirus cases exceed 6,700. Here’s a county-by-county breakdown

The number of novel coronavirus cases in Alabama has surpassed 6,700, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health’s 10:30 a.m. EST Wednesday update.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Alabama is 6,779.

The number of cases in Lee County has reached 377, while Russell County reports 55.

There have been 76,584 tests done statewide. Private labs are not required to report negative tests — meaning it’s possible that the actual number of tests conducted could be greater.

The state reports 242 COVID-19-related deaths.
