Muscogee County and surrounding areas report over 1,600 coronavirus cases. Here’s a list.

Muscogee County and its surrounding areas have 1,615 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus as of the 7 p.m. Wednesday update from Georgia’s Department of Public Health, an increase of 22 from noon.

There are now 86 COVID-19-related deaths in the 18-county area.

Muscogee County reports 294 confirmed cases and seven deaths as of 7 p.m. Wednesday, an increase of one death since noon.

Here’s a breakdown by county of total cases and deaths:

  • Randolph 159, 19
  • Troup 145, 4

  • Dooly 122, 9
  • Macon 74, 3
  • Harris 59, 2
  • Meriwether 54, 1
  • Marion 41, 1
  • Talbot 24, 1

  • Stewart 23, 0

  • Clay 21, 2
  • Taylor 17, 2
  • Schley 16, 1
  • Chattahoochee 11, 0

  • Webster 10, 2

  • Quitman 4,1

Georgia’s West-Central Health District covers 16 counties: Chattahoochee, Clay, Crisp, Dooly, Harris, Macon, Marion, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor and Webster.

Troup and Meriwether counties are not in the West-Central Health District but because of their proximity to Columbus, the Ledger-Enquirer will track those numbers as well.
