Here’s where you can get a free COVID-19 test this weekend in Columbus

The West Central Health District will be offering free COVID-19 testing this weekend, according to a Facebook post from the department.

The testing will take place at Dorothy Height Elementary School, located at 1458 Benning Drive in Columbus, on Saturday and Sunday.

Testing hours on Saturday are from 9 a.m. until noon, and from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Tests will be offered to anyone suffering from symptoms of coronavirus. Some symptoms, according to the CDC, are:

  • Fever
  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Loss of taste and/or smell

According to the Facebook post, individuals without symptoms can get tested as well, but must be a healthcare worker, a first responder or a critical infrastructure worker.

Those unable to make it to this weekend’s testing can get one at the Columbus Health Department, but only if they have a doctor’s referral.

The health department is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.
