Muscogee County and surrounding areas report over 1,820 coronavirus cases. Here’s a list

Muscogee County and its surrounding counties reported 1,824‬ cases of the new coronavirus as of the 12:25 p.m. Saturday update from the Georgia Department of Public Health, an increase of 18 cases since 12:25 p.m Friday.

There were 106‬ COVID-19 related deaths reported in the 18-county area at 12:25 p.m.

Here’s a breakdown by county of total cases, deaths and hospitalizations:

  • Muscogee 364, 12, 75

  • Crisp 182, 6, 36

  • Troup 179, 5, 49

  • Randolph 168, 21, 28

  • Dooly 141, 12, 34

  • Macon 81, 4, 29

  • Harris 62, 2, 11

  • Meriwether 64, 1, 10

  • Marion 39, 1, 9

  • Stewart 31, 0, 9

  • Clay 27, 3, 5

  • Talbot 27, 1, 11

  • Taylor 18, 2, 8

  • Schley 15, 1, 7

  • Chattahoochee 12, 0, 4

  • Webster 10, 2, 5

  • Quitman 6, 1, 3

Georgia’s West-Central Health District covers 16 counties: Chattahoochee, Clay, Crisp, Dooly, Harris, Macon, Marion, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor and Webster.

Troup and Meriwether counties are not in the West-Central Health District but because of their proximity to Columbus, the Ledger-Enquirer will track those numbers as well.

Alabama

The number of novel coronavirus cases in Alabama has now reached 9,486, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health’s 1:30 p.m. EST Saturday update, an increase of 111‬ since 1:30 p.m. Friday.

The number of reported cases in Lee County stands at 420, while Russell County’s total stands at 74.

There have been 122,976 tests done statewide. Private labs are not required to report negative tests — meaning it’s possible that the actual number of tests conducted could be greater.

The state reports 388 COVID-19-related deaths Friday evening and 1,225 hospitalizations.
