36 new COVID-19 cases reported in Muscogee County area on Mother’s Day. Here’s a list.

Muscogee County and its surrounding counties reported 1,860 cases of the new coronavirus as of the 6:25 p.m. Sunday update from the Georgia Department of Public Health, an increase of 5 cases since noon Saturday.

There were 106‬ COVID-19 related deaths reported in the 18-county area.

Here’s a breakdown by county of total cases, deaths and hospitalizations:

  • Muscogee 371, 12, 76

  • Crisp 185, 6, 36

  • Troup 186, 5, 50

  • Randolph 168, 21, 28

  • Dooly 146, 12, 34

  • Macon 85, 4, 29

  • Harris 66, 2, 11

  • Meriwether 65, 1, 10

  • Marion 40, 1, 9

  • Stewart 31, 0, 9

  • Clay 27, 3, 5

  • Talbot 27, 1, 11

  • Taylor 20, 2, 8

  • Schley 15, 1, 7

  • Chattahoochee 12, 0, 4

  • Webster 10, 2, 5

  • Quitman 6, 1, 3

Georgia’s West-Central Health District covers 16 counties: Chattahoochee, Clay, Crisp, Dooly, Harris, Macon, Marion, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor and Webster.

Troup and Meriwether counties are not in the West-Central Health District but because of their proximity to Columbus, the Ledger-Enquirer will track those numbers as well.
