Alabama

The number of novel coronavirus cases in Alabama has now reached 10,895, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health’s 2:30 p.m. EST Thursday update.

The number of reported cases in Lee County stands at 442, while Russell County’s total stands at 89.

There have been 140,876 tests done statewide. Private labs are not required to report negative tests — meaning it’s possible that the actual number of tests conducted could be greater.

The state reports 466 COVID-19-related deaths Friday evening and 1,280 hospitalizations.
