Alabama

The number of novel coronavirus cases in Alabama has now reached 11,505, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health’s 1 p.m. EST Saturday update.

The number of reported cases in Lee County stands at 446, while Russell County’s total stands at 97.

There have been 146,548 tests done statewide. Private labs are not required to report negative tests — meaning it’s possible that the actual number of tests conducted is greater.

The state reports 485 COVID-19-related deaths Friday evening and 1,304 hospitalizations.
