Here’s a list of Columbus businesses that do, don’t require masks be worn on property
In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, many Columbus businesses are requiring customers to wear a mask inside stores and other establishments.
Columbus implemented a local mask mandate on Aug. 21 following an executive order from Gov. Brian Kemp that allows counties over certain COVID-19 thresholds to pass local orders.
The following local businesses have adopted their own face covering requirements:

Dining
Jarfly - 1358 13th St.
Jarfly requires that customers wear masks when they enter the building, are away from the table and while speaking to staff members, according to a Facebook post from the restaurant. Masks will be provided for customers if they don’t have one.
If a customer is unable to wear a mask, curbside service and to-go options are available.
Maltitude - 1031 Broadway
Maltitude requires masks while shopping and interacting with the staff in the store, according to a Facebook post. If an individual doesn’t have a mask, the store will provide one for free.
Fountain City Coffee - 1007 Broadway
The downtown coffee shop requires masks to be worn inside the establishment unless a customer is sitting to eat or drink, according to a Facebook post. Fountain City will give customers a mask at no charge if they don’t have one.
Beejou Craft Kombucha - 1204 1st Ave. Suite C
Beejou Craft Kombucha requires masks inside their store, according to a Facebook post. They also will provide customers with a mask if they don’t have one.
The kombucha store opened this spring amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Epic Restaurant - 1201 Front Ave. Suite E
According to their website, Epic Restaurant requests that diners wear masks while entering and exiting the restaurant. They also will provide masks to patrons who don’t come in with one.
Nonic Beer Bar & Kitchen - 1239 Broadway
Nonic requires customers to wear a mask when entering the restaurant and while away from their table, according to their Facebook page.
Retail/Grocery
The Fresh Market - 1591 Bradley Park Drive Suite B
The Fresh Market requires employees and customers to wear face masks while inside the store, according to their COVID-19 updates page.
Verizon - multiple locations in the Columbus/Phenix City area
According to their COVID-19 information page, face masks are required in all Verizon stores. There are seven stores in the Columbus and Phenix City area.
Chico’s - 6401 Whitesville Road, Suite 200
Masks are required inside the women’s clothing retailer.
Catherines - 3201 Macon Road
Catherines requires associates and customers to wear a mask to enter the store, according to their website.
David’s Bridal - 5450 Whittlesey Blvd Suite 1
According to the bridal chain’s website, customers are required to wear masks inside the store.
Justice - 5550 Whittlesey Blvd
Justice requires face masks while shopping in the store.
Torrid - 5550 Whittlesey Blvd., Space #510
Plus-size clothing retailer Torrid requires shoppers wear masks while in the store. If customers don’t have one, Torrid employees will provide them with one.
Two Sisters Gallery - 1330 13th St.
Two Sisters Gallery requires masks, according to a Facebook post.
Walmart - 6 locations in Columbus
Walmart requires masks inside all locations, according to a press release from the company.
Sam’s Club - 5448 Whittlesey Blvd
Walmart’s mask policy also extends to all Sam’s Club locations as well.
Best Buy - 6499 Whittlesey Blvd
Best Buy requires masks to enter and shop in their stores. The store will supply a face covering if you don’t have one, according to their website.
Young children and individuals with health reasons preventing them from wearing a mask are still allowed in.
Publix - five locations across Columbus and Phenix City
All Publix locations in the area require face masks inside, according to a press release from the company. This requirement will not apply to young children and those with medical conditions who are not able to wear face coverings.
Gap, Old Navy - 5555 Whittlesey Blvd
Gap and Old Navy stores in Columbus require masks inside while shopping, according to a statement from the company.
Kohl’s - 5550 Whittlesey Blvd
Kohl’s requires customers to wear a face covering while shopping in their stores, according to a press release. This mask requirement does not apply to individuals unable to wear a mask for medical reasons.
GameStop - 5555 Whittlesey Blvd, Suite 2510 and 5555 Whittlesey Blvd, Suite 1120
All GameStop locations in the Chattahoochee Valley require mask to be worn in stores, according to GameStop’s website.
Ross - 3150 Macon Road and 5555 Whittlesey Blvd.
Both Ross locations in the Chattahoochee Valley require masks to be worn in stores, according to their website.
Marshall’s - 5555 Whittlesey Road
Marshall’s requires masks to be worn in all U.S. stores, including one here in the Chattahoochee Valley.
Peachtree Mall
Various stores at Peachtree Mall require masks to be worn inside. They include:
- Forever 21
- Bath and Body Works
- H&M
- American Eagle: Customers are required to wear masks at the American Eagle store inside the mall. They will have masks available for customers who don’t have one, according to their COVID-19 FAQ information page.
- Claire’s: Customerswho enter Claire’s are required to wear a mask, according to a store employee. Anyone who receives an ear piercing service also is required to wear a mask.
- Hot Topic: Hot Topic requires face masks or coverings while shopping inside their store, according to their COVID-19 FAQ page.
- PacSun: PacSun requires employees and customers to wear a mask while inside the store. In addition to masks, according to their website, they also ask shoppers to use hand sanitizer before entering the store. They are not accepting cash at this time.
- The Children’s Place
- Macy’s: Macy’s requires customers to wear a facial covering while shopping. If a customer does not have a mask, the store will provide one, according to a press release.
- GameStop
Beauty
Ulta - 5550 Whittlesey Blvd
Ulta requires guests to wear masks in the store, according to the COVID-19 FAQ page.
Brazilian Body Wax by Katharine - 2511 Airport Thruway
Customers at Brazilian Body Wax by Katharine must wear a mask while in the store. There are masks available for purchase if someone shows up without one, according to an employee.
MKP Waxing Salon - 1648 Whittlesey Road Suite 200
Customers of MKP Waxing Salon are required to wear masks inside the store. Clients who are receiving a service that requires their mask or face covering to be removed still will be required to wear a mask or face covering at other times, according to their Facebook page.
If an individual arrives to an appointment without a mask or face covering, the store will provide them one at no charge.
Misc.
Black Lotus Tattoo Gallery - 7401 Fortson Road
Black Lotus Tattoo Gallery requires masks upon entering their establishment. They require appointments for all services and take the temperature of all clients.
MyEyeDr. - 6490 Veterans Parkway
MyEyeDr. requires masks to be worn while being serviced and will provide masks if somebody does not have one. They also perform temperature checks and ask that people sanitize before entering.
Places that don’t require masks
Local governments are required to offer businesses an option to not have the order enforced on their property.
