Troup sheriff arrests man in five-month crime spree
Troup County Sheriff’s investigators arrested a 21-year-old LaGrange man suspected in a long series of car break-ins and burglaries.
Investigators from the Troup Sheriff’s Office, Harris County and LaGrange Police executed a search warrant at the home of Quintavious L. Gray of LaGrange and found dozens of stolen weapons, hunting gear and electronics at his North Kite Drive home.
Gray reportedly told investigators that he had entered hundreds of unsecured vehicles in Troup, Harris and Coweta Counties over the last five months.
Charges against Gray are currently being determined.
Authorities encourage anyone who has been a victim of an entering auto case to follow-up with their investigator or detective in the coming days after authorities have had an opportunity to catalog the recovered property. All recovered stolen property will be returned to the legal owners after this investigation concludes. Additional arrests are possible.
Sheriff James Woodruff thanked the LaGrange Police Department and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this investigation.
“We also want to remind everyone to always look your vehicle no matter where it is parked and to never leave items of value in your vehicle when it is unattended,” Woodruff said.
