Memorial service, visitation for Frank McLemore set for Saturday
The visitation and memorial service for a Smiths Station, Ala., man killed as the result of a police chase two weeks ago in Phenix City will be held Saturday.
The memorial service for Frank McLemore, 72, will be at 2 p.m. in Lakewood Baptist Church in Phenix City. The family will receive friends from noon until just before the service.
McLemore was driving a vehicle that was struck at the intersection of 17th Street and Crawford Road in Phenix City on June 3. He died on the morning of June 4 in Midtown Medical Center from injuries suffered in the crash.
Columbus Police were chasing two suspects in a vehicle that had been reported stolen at the time of the crash. The suspect driving the suspected stolen vehicle crashed into McLemore’s vehicle. Erin McLemore, riding in the vehicle with her husband, suffered significant injuries. She was transferred to a Birmingham hospital. She has since returned to a local facility.
