Whitewater Express to send 150,000th rafter down the river on Saturday
Whitewater Express, the popular outfitter that hosts whitewater rafting trips down the Chattahoochee River, plans to send its 150,000th rafter downstream on Saturday at 11 a.m., according to a news release.
The 150,000th rafter will receive a complimentary season pass to experience unlimited rafting trips and zip line trips for one full year.
Now in its fifth season, Whitewater Express only passed the 100,000 rafter mark a year ago. That means that 50,000 rafters have traveled down the Chattahoochee in the last year alone. The milestone will come just Whitewater Express finishes construction an expansion to its Blue Heron zip line course, which will take customers across the river two times.
“This is exciting for Whitewater Express and the community because of the tremendous economic impact these customers have had on restaurants, hotels, and retail stores in Columbus,” said Dan Gilbert, owner of Whitewater Express.
