Harris County Storm Update: ‘Roads blocked and won’t be cleared until morning’
While intense winds cluttered streets with debris Monday afternoon, Harris County Emergency Management issued another Code Red Alert asking residents to stay indoors.
"Many roads are blocked and will not be cleared until morning," according to a robo call and text received at 2:08 p.m. "Road crews have suspended service for safety reasons. EMS has suspended service."
The alert came as trees swayed and rain poured more intensely with each passing hour. As dark clouds loomed, some homes began losing electricity.
"High wind and trees down, roads blocked," officials warned. "Please stay inside."
