PAWS Humane sets up shelter for animal evacuees from Irma — all are adoptable
PAWS Humane, along with Animal SOS and Flournoy & Calhoun Realtors, has set up a temporary shelter to house animal evacuees from Hurricane Irma. Yet another shipment of animals is scheduled to arrive Friday afternoon, PAWS said, and all the animals are available for adoption.
Dogs can be adopted at PAWS North Saturday and Sunday, September 23 and 24 from 12-5 p.m. All adoptions will be name-your-own-price, and all donations will go toward the care for Irma animals and all other PAWS animals.
Meet and greets are required if you already have a dog at home, so PAWS is urging prospective adoptive families to bring their dog along to meet what may be their new friend.
If you aren’t able to adopt, PAWS is also in need of monetary donations to help care for the animals.
“We still can't do this without you. We need money to pay the electric and water bill at the warehouse, vaccines, microchips, and medical care,” PAWS said.
Those wishing to donate can visit www.pawshumane.org/make-donation/ and click yes in the, “Is this for Irma Disaster Relief?” drop down box.
