1. Police use Taser to take man into custody following Macon Road standoff: One man is in custody after a police standoff on Macon Road in Columbus. Columbus police Maj. J.D. Hawk said the incident started in Phenix City and ended on Macon Road in Columbus. Officers stopped a red Mercedes in the westbound lane of Macon Road in front of the Wells Fargo bank. A brief standoff occurred before officers used a Taser to remove the suspect from the car. The standoff ended around 4:30 p.m. with the suspect in custody.

2. Well-known Columbus cook, television personality dies at 97: For a generation of Columbus cooks, Lois McCosh’s name was synonymous with Thanksgiving dinner. McCosh worked for the Gas Light Company of Columbus, but her true passion was cooking. And she did it in regular installments on “The Rozell Show,” a popular WRBL production hosted by the late Rozell Fabiani. McCosh, 97, died Tuesday in hospice care.

3. TSYS president getting nearly $2.3 million upon leaving company: Pamela Joseph, who agreed last week to resign as president and chief operating officer at TSYS, will receive a separation payment of $2,275,000 upon leaving the global credit-card and payment processor on Saturday, the effective date of her departure. She also will no longer be a member of its board of directors.

4. Kevin Hart shares promise with Columbus audience amid cheating, extortion scandal: Comedian Kevin Hart addressed his cheating scandal during his show in Columbus Saturday night, saying he’s “going through some s--- right now, I’m going through some drama.” According to footage obtained by TMZ, Hart ended his sold-out show at the RiverCenter with a promise to the audience. “This is as real as it gets right here,” he said.

5. Liberian president to visit son after historic UN speech, making rounds in Columbus: Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is known around the world as the first female head of state on the African continent, a champion of democracy and one of the most powerful women on the political stage. But to Dr. James Sirleaf, medical director for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Midtown Medical Center, the 2011 Nobel Prize recipient will always be “Mom.”
