A local residential cleaning service, My Amazing Maid, is donating free house cleaning to some women battling cancer.

The company, which has an office in Fortson, Ga., services five counties.

It has a partnership with Cleaning For a Reason, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to helping life easier for women with cancer by giving the gift of a clean home.

The company is owned by Royce and Tamara Ard.

In a press release, Royce Ard said earlier this yea he and his wife heard about a friend who was battling cancer and offered to clean her house.

He described it as a “great experience,” and inspired them to join with Cleaning For a Reason.

The company agreed to clean the homes of two women per month for two consecutive months at no charge.

“But soon after we began our partnership we saw the need to expand our coverage,” said Tamara Ard.

Now, the maid service donates about 20 hours of cleaning per month to five women, four in Georgia and one in Alabama.
