Several Columbus streets closing at railroad crossings for repairs
Railroad company Norfolk Southern will be closing several street crossings in December to perform repairs and upgrades at the sites, although no start date has been given, the Columbus city manager’s office said Thursday.
While the city on Wednesday said that preparation for the project could start as soon as Friday, on Thursday it backed off of that and said there is not firm no start date at this time. When the work does begin, there will be detours. To avoid the 10th Street closure, motorists should take 9th Street or the 11th Street underpass, the city said, while the 5th Avenue closure detour is Veterans Parkway.
Here’s a list of the Columbus streets with railroad crossings impacted by the work:
▪ Shep Street
▪ Ace Way Drive
▪ Buena Vista Road
▪ Oakview Avenue
▪ 10th Avenue
▪ 10th Street
▪ 12th Street
▪ 5th Avenue
▪ 3rd Avenue
