Columbus police investigating MCSD school bus crash

Columbus police are investigating a Muscogee County School District bus crash that happened near Macon Road and Chattsworth Road.

According to a release from the school district, the bus was traveling to Aaron Cohn Middle School Tuesday morning when it collided with a car. The involved car reportedly fled the scene.

No children were harmed during the incident and all parents were contacted, according to the release. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

MCSD officials received notice of the crash around 8:30 a.m. Columbus police were contacted immediately.

“The primary mission of the District’s Transportation Department is to safely and efficiently transport the students of Muscogee County to and from school. We are fortunate to report that there were no injuries involved with our students or personnel in this case,” the release stated.
