Fort Benning has postponed its annual Airborne tower lighting due to weather.

The ceremony will take place instead on Dec. 11 with activites starting at 4 p.m., according to a release from Fort Benning. The ceremony and events will take place at Eubanks Field located on Edwards Street behind McGinnis-Wickham Hall.

Guests can try their hand at jumping from a 34-foot-tower and visit with Santa Claus once he arrives at 6 p.m. He’ll be accompanied by members of Fort Benning’s command exhibition parachute team, the Silver Wings.

Holiday music will be played by the Maneuver Center of Excellence Band, and Bradley and Stryker military vehicles will be on display along with a UH60 helicopter.

The entire event is free and open to the public. Non-military ID card holders must stop at the I-185 visitor center to get a pass.
