Blues guitarist Selwyn Birchwood brings tour to The Loft Saturday
Blues guitarist and vocalist Selwyn Birchwood’s “Pick Your Poison Tour 2017” will be making at stop at The Loft in Columbus on Saturday.
Rolling Stone magazine has called the Florida musician a “remarkable contemporary bluesman, a powerhouse young guitarist and soulful vocalist.”
Living Blues magazine says he is a “master storyteller – both lyrically and musically.”
He is “fiery and original,” said a review in the Wall Street Journal.
Birchwood, who records for Alligator Records, says some of the best advice he ever received came from legendary blues artist Sonny Rhodes with whom he toured.
“Sonny always said ‘Play what’s in your heart. I’ve never lost sight of that,” Birchwood said.
He has performed at festivals including The Chicago Blues Festival, The Tampa Bay Blues Festival and The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival.
