Children in the Twin Cedars care programs are hoping for some Christmas presents this year - and the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding some.

Deputy Sheriff Kristy Lang posted on Facebook Saturday that Twin Cedars had contacted the office and asked for help in providing Christmas presents for 25 children in their care. Their ages range from as young as 11 months to as old as 18 years. There are 11 girls and 14 boys.

Lang wrote they are most in need of toys and clothing. The drop off for donations is Monday, Dec. 18, from 12-4 p.m. in the parking lot between Target and PetSmart on Bradley Park Drive. Lang said it was okay for the clothing to be gently used.

Lang wrote there will be two deputies with a patrol car collecting the donations, which will be delivered to the home on Tuesday.

Twin Cedars Youth and Family Services Inc., operates a number of homes and services for children throughout the region, including in Columbus, LaGrange, Macon, Auburn and Opelika. The group cares for children in the foster system and provides counseling and residential programming. It also runs advocacy programs to protect children from abuse. More information can be found on the group’s website.
