Did Georgia million-dollar lottery winner meet deadline to collect prize?
The Georgia Lottery has been producing million-dollar winners, but this week it produced a million-dollar loser.
A winning MegaMillions ticket from the Aug. 8 drawing expired at midnight Sunday, according to a Georgia Lottery Corp., spokeswoman. The ticket was sold at the Summit Food Store, located at 1900 Highway 18 in West Point.
Winners have 180 days to claim their prize. Last week, Georgia Lottery officials sent out at least two news releases warning that the winning ticket was about to expire.
The winning numbers from the drawing were: 11-17-50-52-74 and the Mega Ball was 14. The $1 million prize is the game’s second prize that can be won by matching the first five numbers but not the Mega Ball.
