Local artist captures scene as unaware motorists drive overhead
As unsuspecting motorists crossed the Dillingham Street Bridge, local artist Randy Nguyen was busy with brush and palette knife, using the underside of that same bridge for cover from the afternoon sun and as a way to frame the scene he was painting.
Nguyen is a professional artist with more than 40 years experience. Locally, he’s known for fine art portraiture and capturing local scenes. That day, he was inspired not only by the scene, but the light and the color, which he described as having all different emotions. “ For me, it looks like a piece of music,” he said.
