Columbus State Theater presents ‘Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells’

Columbus State University’s production of “Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells” opens to the public Friday at CSU’s Riverside Theatre Complex in downtown Columbus.

The play is adapted by Allison Gregory from the book by Barbara Park and tells the story of first-grader Junie B. Jones, who is excited about the upcoming holiday sing-along and Secret Santa gift exchange at her school.

She then learns of plans by classmate May to spoil her fun. When Junie B. draws May’s name for Secret Santa, she devises a plan to teach May a lesson.

Public performances are scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
