Central High School captured their first state football championship in 25 years Wednesday evening at Auburn University's Jordan-Hare Stadium to cap a perfect, unbeaten season.

The plan is set for the public celebration of the Central football team’s state championship.

The No. 1-ranked Red Devils beat the No. 2 Thompson Warriors 52-7 Wednesday night in Jordan-Hare Stadium for the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 7A title.

The celebration will be Dec. 13, starting at 6:30 p.m. in Garrett-Harrison Stadium, Phenix City Schools superintendent Randy Wilkes announced Thursday.

The Central High School Red Devils Regiment, cheerleaders and Dazzlin’ Devils dancers will parade with the players and coaches into the stadium through the visiting team’s entrance. Fans should sit in the home team’s stands.

Video highlights of the season and the championship game will be shown on the jumbotron. Community leaders will honor the team. The public will be given an opportunity to take pictures with the state championship trophy and buy championship shirts and hoodies.
