Water main busted on Buena Vista Road. Here’s what residents need to know.
Construction work on Buena Vista Road has caused a water main break in the area, according to city officials.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. this morning, said Vic Burchfield, senior vice president for Columbus Water Works.
“An independent contractor hit a 20-inch pipe and ruptured it,” he said. “We’re actively working on the repair in the area.”
Burchfield said customers in the area near the old Tillinghurst School might see reduced water pressure and discoloration. The water should clear as time goes on, he said, and affected customers should run their water until it clears.
There’s currently no estimated time on when the repairs will be done, but Burchfield says that Columbus Water Works crews are working on the water main break as fast as possible.
“We’re dedicated to getting everything in the area back in service,” Burchfield said.
