Need ideas for Mother’s Day? Here are deals, events in Columbus for mom
Mother’s Day is one of the first major holidays being celebrated in the Columbus area after Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp lifted restrictions for many restaurants and other retail businesses amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Columbus-area businesses are having to adapt during the outbreak by utilizing meal kits, carryout dining and more.
Here’s a list of Mother’s Day specials and events being hosted by local businesses in the Chattahoochee Valley:
Food
Morten’s at Old Town is offering a Mother’s Day Brunch at their restaurant, located at 3580 Massee Lane in Columbus. The brunch is available via patio reservation, 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. and only in groups of six or less, or via curbside carryout. In order to get the brunch via curbside, orders must be placed by 8 p.m. Saturday and include a minimum of four people ordering in the group.
The brunch is $34 per person, according to the restaurant’s Facebook post, and includes foods like ambrosia fruit salad, grilled mahi mahi with grits and nutella cheesecake. To place an order for the brunch, call (762) 524-7079.
The Fresh Market, 1591 Bradley Park Drive in Columbus, is offering brunch and dinner kits for Mother’s Day. The kits cost $39.99 and $49.99, respectively.
The brunch kit serves 4 and includes a quiche and other breakfast foods. The dinner kit serves two and includes chocolate dipped strawberries and a bouquet of flowers. Both kits can be bought online through until May 7 at 2 p.m. EDT and are available for pickup beginning May 8-10.
Gifts
4th Avenue Car Wash is offering $25 gift cards for $20 at their location at 1020 Veterans Parkway in Columbus. The cards can only be bought in person and not online, according to a Facebook post.
Events
Painting with a Twist, 6298 Veterans Parkway Suite 2N, is hosting a virtual live paint party for Mother’s Day. The cost is $37 per person and will take place from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Once the canvas kit is bought online, drop by the Veterans Parkway location from noon to 5 p.m. any day from now until Saturday to pick it up. The day of the event, you’ll receive a Zoom code to log in and attend the session.
Stars and Strikes, 7607 Veterans Parkway, will be open on Mother’s Day and all moms can bowl for free all day long. The offer includes a free game, free shoe rental, free laser tag and free bumper cars.
