Editor’s note: The Muscogee County Coroner’s Office misidentified the pedestrian hit and killed by a truck on Fort Benning Road on Sunday evening as Cynthia Griswould. This story will be updated when the correct name is released.

A woman was hit and killed by a truck on Fort Benning Road Sunday evening.

The woman, who has not been correctly identified, died from multiple blunt force trauma. Her death was ruled an accident by Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

The pedestrian was struck near Spencer High School and taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 9 p.m.
