School community shares faith through prayer, balloon rosary

St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School students, faculty and staff gathered on the school’s Deimel Field Wednesday afternoon to pray the Rosary using an arrangement of balloons resembling a cross and beads. It was part of the school’s celebration of Catholic Schools Week.

National Catholic Schools Week is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. This year, it was celebrated the of Jan. 31.

“We have different ways during the week that we celebrate and today we did the rosary together as a school,” said Roni Collins, president and high school principal at St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School. “It was just kind of a really neat way to show the children how to meditate and pray.”

The Rosary was led by students inside the field’s press box. Among the prayers recited were the Apostles’ Creed, Our Father, Hail Mary, and the Glory Be.
