Human skeletal remains were found in the woods behind a business located on Corporate Ridge Parkway Thursday, according to Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Ben Saxon.

“We’re very confident that we can provide closure for a family,” Saxon said.

At this time the sex of the remains is unknown and there is no estimate as to how long the body has been in the area.

“You know that somebody’s looking for them,” Saxon said. “I just hope that we can finally bring them closure.”

Saxon said the decomposition process can vary depending on a multitude of factors including the time, temperature and climate among others.
