Three Columbus pools are scheduled to be demolished and replaced with new parks and splash pads, according to Parks and Recreation Director Holli Browder.

The Psalmond Road pool, Rigdon Park pool and the Shirley Winston pool are the three pools scheduled to be demolished and replaced with new pools at these locations, Browder said. These pools were described as being closed due to cracks in pipes leaking large amounts of water, according to the Columbus Parks and Recreation website

The Double Churches pool and the Columbus Aquatics Center will be open for the summer, according to Browder. She said the Columbus Aquatics Center is open year round and the Double Churches location will open on Memorial day weekend.

Browder said they are in the final stages of the design process for the new pools and are beginning the demolition of the three existing pools. She said the construction process will then begin with an anticipated opening day of Memorial Day 2024 for the three new pools and two splash pads with undetermined locations.
