One dead after moped collides with pickup truck on Veterans Parkway in Columbus

One man is dead after an accident Tuesday night on Veterans Parkway near Desmond Drive, according to Columbus Police and Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.
Bryan identified the victim as 54-year-old Ricky Burt and said an autopsy will be performed.
Police say they were called to the scene shortly before midnight where a pickup truck collided with a moped.
The driver of the moped, Burt, died and a second passenger on the moped was injured but is expected to be okay, according to police.
