Columbus man dies after motorcycle crash in Canada, Yukon coroner says

Columbia

A Columbus man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Canada earlier this month, according to a Yukon Coroner’s Service press release.

The 66-year-old, who has yet to be identified to media, was traveling north on his motorcycle on June 8 when he apparently lost control of the bike, according to the release. He was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Whitehorse.

The coroner’s service said the man left Georgia in mid-May and was traveling through the Yukon alone, heading to Inuvik.

The coroner’s service has told the Ledger-Enquirer that the next of kin has been notified.
