Child, 12, killed and multiple children injured in UTV wreck in Troup County

One child is dead and several other children are injured following a UTV crash in Troup County Saturday, according to authorities.

The Troup County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to the 900 block of North Stateline Road in northern Troup County to calls of a UTV accident involving several children who were injured.

Responding law enforcement were given information en route that four patients were injured, with one of those suffering serious injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office said three were transported to a Columbus-area hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries while the other was transported to Well Star West Georgia Medical Center.

A 12-year-old male died from his injuries, according to the release.

The sheriff’s office said Georgia State Patrol was requested to work the investigation due to the serious nature of the accident.
