Two people — one from Columbus, another from Hurtsboro — killed in head-on crash

Two people are dead following a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Macon County, Alabama, according to authorities.

Authorities say Santoyas D. Jackson, 33, of Columbus, Georgia and Larry R. Johnson, 56, of Hurtsboro, Alabama were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The head-on crash occurred on U.S. Highway 80, approximately 12 miles south of Auburn, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate, according to the release.
